Proceeds from the evening will help provide more than 1000 medical visits for Arlington County children. The third in its seven-year history, the focus of the 2008 adult benefit is “Oh, the Places We’ll Go.” The night’s festivities will feature an intercontinental cocktail buffet, adventurous games, and a silent and live auction befitting the Dr. Seuss theme. The auction will feature exciting “Places to Go:” La Jolla and Palm Springs, CA; Nantucket, New York City , Delaware beaches and behind the scenes in many Washington area locales. A premier wine cellar, donated at home-hosted events by Arlington women, will showcase the live auction. Arlington Dad and U.S. Congressmen Joe Crowley will serve as auctioneer and master of ceremonies, guiding participants through the evening’s many experiences. The Arlington Pediatric Center, a non-profit organization, offers compassionate health care to children of Arlington families whose income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. Over the last seven years, APC has provided more than 62,000 clinical visits and enrolled more than 6700 children ranging in age from newborn through 18 years of age. APC services include acute care for illness and injury, well child care, lab and radiology services, limited pharmacy, case management and culturally-sensitive programs. Care is provided regardless of the family’s ability to pay.
